When some fisherman from Japan spotted an odd-looking eel-like creature with a mouthful of needle-sharp teeth at a nearby port, he just could not believe his own eyes! The first thing he did was to alert the experts at The Awashima Marine Park in Shizuoka, south of Tokyo, and what they discovered was just incredible! The creature was identified as the frilled shark and it looks like it`s coming from the prehistoric times!
This primitive shark is often referred to as a “living fossil”, and what these guys managed to catch on film is very rare. The reason for this is in the fact that they live 2,000 feet below the ocean’s surface, and scientists think that this one has come to the surface because it was sick or something like that. However, it sure looks creepy, and I definitely would not like to meet this creature in person, and how about you?
