The Aztec Empire flourished between c. 1345 and 1521 CE and, at its greatest extent, covered most of northern Mesoamerica. They were known by most as a warlike, barbaric race, mostly due to the incredible amount of people they killed.
There are sounds that definitely do not suit to the human ear, and the sound of the famous Aztec Death Whistle is certainly one of them. Aztec whistles of death are skull-shaped whistles that emit an eerie shriek when blown into. This whistle was used by the Aztec people during the religious ceremonies and the purpose was to scare an enemy. Can you imagine thousands of Aztec warriors coming together and blowing into skulls that sound similar to the scream of someone in the last throws of death? I certainly would not like to be on the opposite side.
