Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that’s triggered by a terrifying event — either experiencing it or witnessing it, and many war veterans suffer from this condition after returning home from combat. Other than traditional treatment and medications it is known that interacting with animals can be very successful way of recovering. Usually, these are dogs or horses, but in Lockwood Animal Rescue Center in Frazier Park, CA, veterans with PTSD heal with the help of rescued wolves!
The program is called Warriors and Wolves and even though it might seem unbelievable, wolves and veterans are helping each other and the results are just amazing. Jim Minick is one of the guys who found this program very positive and when nothing else worked, these wild animals helped him found his peace. Incredible!
