For years Ted has been draping an old blanket over the back of his couch, having no idea if it had any real worth. It was passed down through his family and he assumed that this old blanket was a chief’s blanket. When ‘Antiques Roadshow’ stopped by his area, he took the opportunity to bring it in for Donald Ellis to appraise, and when he first saw it, he was amazed!
Apparently it was a Navajo Chief’s Ute First Phase blanket, a very rare thing which on a good day can be worth up to $500,000! Now, can you imagine the shock on Ted’s face when he heard this? He was in disbelief for a moment or two, but then had the best reaction ever. I sure understand him, I get so excited when I find a $20 bill in my pocket which I have completely forgotten, and what to say about this discovery!
